Covers the sounds c, k, e, h, r, m, d
If the wrong initial sound is selected, a sad face is displayed and you are returned to the image slide to choose again.
Once the correct sound is selected, a happy face is displayed and you can progress to the next slide.
Strand: Reading
Strand unit: Competence and Confidence in Using Language
Suggestions for use: Use this game after having taught the following phonemes: c, k, e, h, r, m, d to reinforce teaching and learning objectives Can be used as an informal assessment tool: teacher can record pupil responses whilst playing the game with the full class. As the game is self-correcting, pupils can play it independently. It could therefore be played during station teaching, e.g. using iPads/tablets or laptops during literacy hour.
