This online app will help you to determine how clearly you write. It will calculate the reading age of your audience based on word and sentence length. Copy and paste your text into the box and press calculate for the result. Suits persuasive writing, but not creative writing. (JC & LC, H/O)

Suggestions for use: Edit the paragraph provided in the app to eliminate the colours/highlights. When you are satisfied with your edits, cut and paste a paragraph you have written into the app. Again, edit the highlights using the guides on the right for more effective expression. Remember, this suits writing to persuade in a clear manner. It doesn't suit creative writing as much due to the advice about keeping adjectives to a minimum.
