Literacy - General Punctuation Test 1.

Added: 21 May 2018 Contributor: EUNAN JAMES OBOYLE Resource type: Assessment / Experiment / Lesson Plan / Project / Primary Source

The multiple-choice options in this test were created in class by students at St. Louis High School, Rathmines, as part of their literacy programme. The test iteslf is designed to measure how efficiently you use punctuation. You may redo it as often as you wish.

How it maps to the curriculum

Strand: 3. Writing

Strand unit: 12. Syntax/Grammer/Word Choice/Text Structure

Suggestions for use: Problems with punctuation can usually be fixed quickly with frequent practice. A number of students in the school who had difficulties punctuating, committed to meeting for peer tuition once a week over two months. The results were uplifting to the point where those same students became tutors for others. If you have difficulties, hook up with a punctuation buddy and do some work together. You'll be amazed at how quickly you’ll progress.
