Performance of a movement from Bizet's suite. The video consists of a 'still' photograph. The Intermezzo from this suite by Bizet used to be a set work on the old JC course but now works very well as a vehicle for preparing Senior Cycle students for the Aural Skills question on the Listening paper.

Suggestions for use: Senior Cycle students may not have heard the term 'intermezzo' before so it would be a good idea to play one for them before tackling this activity. The questions probe instrumentation, cadences, tonality, texture, themes and instrumental techniques.
