'Mobile' Music - Playalong Practice Tracks. Part 2: Explanatory Video

Added: 28 Feb 2021 Contributor: PDST Resource type: Guide/notes / Audio / Video / Presentation / Reference

This short video explores an online book whose purpose is to show how to share scrolling sheet music and sound-files from any device to any other device, using the free notation program, 'Musescore'. The ability to use 'Musescore' on a range of devices enables and encourages students to practise their pieces at home. Students can rehearse in their own time and at their own pace, supported by their 'Musescore' accompaniments. This resource was first shown at the PDST Music Spring series in 2021.

How it maps to the curriculum

SC
Music

Strand: Performing

Suggestions for use: This video demonstrates how Music files can be sent easily from one phone to another phone, in 'Musescore' format, so that students can practise their pieces at home using their mobiles. This is very relevant for students who need access to accompaniments before their practical exams.
