'Zooming Music' - Singing and Wellbeing. Part 1: Online Book

Added: 28 Feb 2021 Contributor: PDST Resource type: Demonstration / Guide/notes / Audio / Video / Presentation

This online book focuses on vocal exercises and warm ups to prepare for singing. There are practical activities using tonic solfa and the free notation program, ‘Musescore’. This resource was first shown at the PDST Music Spring series in 2021.

How it maps to the curriculum

Strand: Performing

Suggestions for use: Rounds are included as a singing resource as they are a simple way to get students singing, with the help of their iPads/tablets. Some very basic ‘Garageband’ backing tracks are included as they liven up the exercises. The undisputed link between communal singing and wellbeing lies at the heart of this resource.
