'Zooming Music' - Singing and Wellbeing. Part 2: Explanatory Video

Added: 28 Feb 2021 Contributor: PDST Resource type: Demonstration / Audio / Video / Presentation

The idea behind this PDST offering was to try and encourage singing over the Zoom platform – not an easy task. This short video is a ‘taster’ for the online book of the same title. Physical warm ups using the game of basketball are included, as well as a Rap to ensure good posture. This resource was first shown at the PDST Music Spring series in 2021.

How it maps to the curriculum

SC
Music

Strand: Performing

Suggestions for use: The vocal warm ups incorporate ear training and solfa hand signs. These are great to encourage pitch accuracy and can really sharpen student focus. At the heart of this resource lies the essential philosophy that communal singing strengthens singers' wellbeing.
