Remixing in 'Soundtrap' (PDST Music)

Added: 10 Nov 2021 Contributor: PDST Resource type: Guide/notes / Audio / Video / Lesson Plan / Presentation / Reference

Remixing can act as a flexible framework for broader learning outcomes. Remixing or rearranging familiar songs allows students to insert themselves into the life and narrative of the music they already love. This in turn accesses their individual creativity in a very real way.

How it maps to the curriculum

Suggestions for use: With remixing as an approach to composition, you could have any musical element at the focus of your lessons at any particular time. The attached resource deals with an array of elements such as Timbre, Tempo, Rhythm, Harmony, Melody and music production. This presentation is aimed at TY students, but also Senior Cycle Music students who wish to discover a simple path into making their own recordings of their own music
