Composing with Found Sounds at Senior Cycle (PDST Music)

Added: 10 Nov 2021 Contributor: PDST Resource type: Demonstration / Guide/notes / Audio / Video / Reference

In 'Book Creator' format, this resource suggests ideas for creating soundscape and beat-based compositions using found sounds, activities that are particularly relevant to TY students.

How it maps to the curriculum

TY
TY Subject Sampling

Strand: Music

Suggestions for use: This resource suits students who have completed JC Music as well as students who have not studied Music previously. It gives them an insight into found sound composing, gives them the first stepping stone to electroacoustic composing (e.g., for the LC composing elective) and offers them an opportunity to use 'Soundtrap' (for soundscapes) and 'Audacity' (for beat-based compositions).
