Congratulations to Anglesboro N.S. of Co. Limerick for winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!
The Anglesboro National School website has a very simple and clean design with a good use of colour and space. There are four dropdown menu options which makes it extremely easy for visitors to the site to quickly find the information they need. The homepage banner contains the school's crest as well as awards the school awards such as Active School, Green Flag and Digital School of Distinction. There is also an embedded YouTube of highlights of the previous school year as well as a photo slider of pictures of life within the school.
The About Us tab contains important information for visitors to the site such as school calendar, the history of the school, school staff, parent's association and school policies. There is also a News section in the navigation bar which keeps visitors to the site up to date on events in school.
The Activities section of the website details all the wide ranging and varied activities that take place in the school such as GAA, the school garden and science. Each section contains photos, information and updates on each activity such as the visit of the Galtee Gaels Junior team to the school, being awarded a second green flag and the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. The pupils used the money raised from their Junior Entrepreneur project to add three new flower beds to their school garden. At the end of the year the senior classes enjoyed a bacon and cabbage dinner using their own potatoes and cabbage grown in the school garden! The school have also invested in nine new iPads which the children have enjoyed using and has led to the school being awarded the Digital School of Distinction Award.
Anglesboro National School's website is well maintained and kept up to date and reflects the pride that the pupils, teachers, staff and parents take in the school. Congratulations on winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!
