Congratulations to Boolavogue N.S. of Ferns, Co. Wexford for winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!
The Boolavogue National School website is very well maintained and easy to navigate. There is good use of colour and space. Visitors to the website are greeted with an image of the school as well as a welcome note from the principal outing the school's values and ethos. The school have embedded their Twitter feed into their home page as a way of keeping visitors up to date with school events.
The News and Events section contains the latest news, newsletters and a calendar of school events and closures for the year. The school's website contains a section on initiatives such as European Blue Star, Green School's Programme, Digital School of Distinction and Active Flag. The website also contains a section on the school's Parent's Association and details how it has resourced the school by acquiring 15 iPads, a whiteboard and Maths equipment.
The site also provides vital information for parents such as the school's daily routine, school calendar, extra-curricular activities and links to websites of interest (we are delighted to see Scoilnet among the list of recommended links!). Another excellent feature of the website is the Kid's Corner section. This contains links to help pupils with research, games and quizzes and a page dedicated to educational apps.
Boolavogue National School's website is well maintained and kept up to date and reflects the pride that the pupils, teachers and parents take in the school. Congratulations on winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!
