Edmondstown NS
Rathfarnham, Dublin 16

Congratulations to Edmondstown National School for winning Scoilnet's Star Site Award. Visitors to the school's website are greeted with a spacious layout, inviting graphics and pleasant colours. The site features an easy to find tab bar located at the top of the page which becomes a dropdown menu when the page is resized. There are four logos beneath the main banner on the homepage with links to STEM, Active Schools, Operation Transformation and Green Schools. The homepage also contains the most up to date information on events in the school such as Confirmation and Engineer's Week.

Edmondstown NS's website contains an array of tabs with information on the Board of Management, School Policies and Staff and Classes. Each of the four classes in the school has their own tab which showcases all their hard work such as planting onions, making bird houses, projects on Mexico and the Bí Gnóthach project. The site also has a very informative Parent's Section which contains information on the Parent's Association, downloadable advice sheets and useful websites (no sign of Scoilnet.ie in that section but we live in hope!). Another excellent feature is the Downloads section where parents can download important forms such as application forms and pupil information forms.

Edmondstown NS's website has an Events tab that details all the activities and happenings in the school such as Easter Egg hunt, Safer Internet Day and Grandparent's Day to name but a few. There are also details on the site about school initiatives such as Active School, the school choir, STEM and the student council.

This a very simple and straight forward website that is well maintained, up to date and is an excellent point of contact between the school, parents and the wider community. Well done!
