Congratulations to Ringville N.S. of Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny for winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!
Ringville National School's website has a very simple and easy to navigate layout. The homepage contains a photo slider that showcases the best aspects of the school such as their school garden, playing pitch, basketball court and playground. The menu bar is colour coded which makes the site extremely easy to navigate. Most of the important information on the school is displayed on the homepage such as school achievements, news and events. A very nice feature of this site is that all these sections can searched by keyword. The homepage also contains information on the staff, Board of Management and Parent's Association.
The school's website also contains a second navigation bar at the top of the homepage with links to the school blog, calendar, information about the school and contact details. The school blog contains news on activities of the pupils such as Literature Circles, the School Garden and Coding for Junior and Senior Infants. The website uses an embedded Google Calendar which is very effective in keeping teachers, parents and pupils up to date with events in the school. The About Us tab has information on school hours, the school uniform and an embedded map on the location of the school.
The General tab contains very interesting information on the history of the school and even contains a photo of a class that dates back to 1895! Policies and Booklists are also included in the General tab along with a list of useful links for parents although we've noticed that Scoilnet isn't included in this list.
Ringville National School's website is well maintained and kept up to date and reflects the pride that the pupils, teachers and parents take in the school. Congratulation on winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!
