This week's Star Site

A school website can tell you a lot about a school. Scoil Bhríde in Portlaoise is a very large national school with over 700 pupils and the website reflects the amount of work and activity that takes place in such a large educational institution.

The school also has a partner programme with a school in Malawi and readers can look at the development work being undertaken at that school thanks to their collaborative partnership with Scoil Bhríde.

Content on the site mixes standard text with images and videos and there is a huge volume of content across the tabs at the top of each page - classes, activities and parents. When we were reviewing the site in December we saw videos of the 5th class choir singing carols in a local shopping centre. The school also runs a radio station - which is quite a unique feature for Primary schools.
