Our first Scoilnet Star Site winner of 2017 is Buaile Beag National School. They have a bilingual site with the content in both English and Gaeilge. There is a lot of information on this site and it is clear that it is being updated on a regular basis. These updates clearly show how the community is incorporated with the school life and lessons. There is an emphasis on Drama, Sport, Science and Music on this site. This school is also a recipient of many awards.
This school is situated in the Gaeltacht but is being very mindful of being accessible to parents that might not speak Irish by having a bilingual website.
There is a huge amount of information available on this site on both subject areas and events happening in the school. Form the coverage of these events it is clear to see that the school works closely with parents and the community. It hosts information relevant to parents including the training times for school sports.
Buaile Beag National School have been in receipt of many awards including the Discover Science and Maths Award 2016, the Blue Flag, the FAI 5-a-side both boys and girls county finalists 2016 and now the Scoilnet Star site.
