Scoil Bhríde Loreto NS
Killarney, Co. Kerry

Congratulations to Scoil Bhríde, Killarney, Co. Kerry for winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!

Visitors to Scoil Bhríde's website are greeted with a well laid out homepage with good use of space and colour. There is a welcome message from the principal outlining a brief history and ethos of the school. The homepage also contains an embedded calendar which is an excellent way of keeping pupils and parents up to date with important events. Users can easily find information on the site by using the nine navigation tabs at the top of the homepage. The navigation bar has a stunning photo of the Macgillycuddy's reeks as its backdrop.

The Our School navigation tab provides users with information on the staff, board of management, enrolment policies and school magazine. The noticeboard section informs users of upcoming events as well as important dates for the diary. Scoil Bhríde's website has a Newsletter section that is regularly updated. Each newsletter contains photos, links and up to date information on after school activities as well as projects and initiatives within the school.

The site also contains an extensive section for Parents to get them actively involved in their child's learning. This section has information on children's health, internet safety and Jolly Phonics. There is a section on initiatives within Scoil Bhríde such as Green Schools, Junior Entrepreneur and the Student Council. Scoil Bhríde's website also has a section for pupils called Kid's Corner which has links to educational games, child friendly search engines and resources such as Scoilnet Maps (always happy to see links to our site!) and the I am an Artist website.

Scoil Bhríde's site has a nice simple design with an easy to navigate layout and is an excellent point of contact between parents, pupils and the school. Well done on winning Scoilnet's Star Site Award!
