Congratulations to St Francis N.S. of Blackrock, Co. Louth for winning Scoilnet’s Star Site award. Visitors to the website are greeted with colourful and inviting graphics as well as a photo slider on the homepage showing the school building, school computer room as well as a school classroom.
The site is easy to navigate with a clear and simple layout. There are six tabs positioned at the top of the home page with general school news embedded below the photo slider which keeps visitors to the site up to date with events at the school. A very nice feature of the site is that every class level has their own page in the Classes tab. Every class page is well maintained and highlights the excellent work that is being done by both the teachers and the pupils. The website even has a page for past pupils which invites them to “pop in for a chat and have a look around.”
The website is very up to date and is an excellent point of contact for parents and the community. Parents are kept up to date via the News tab and they have their own dedicated section on the homepage with booklists, useful links and details of how to get involved in the school. The site also highlights the numerous achievements of St Francis N.S. such as Green Flags, Active Flag, Eco Tribes Project, Junior Entrepreneur Program and Scratch Programming.
All in all, St Francis’ website is designed and laid out in such a way that it reflects the warm and inclusive ethos of the school. Well done!
