Congratulations to St Molua's N.S. of Ardagh, Co. Limerick for winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!
St Molua's website is up to date, well maintained and has a simple and easy to navigate layout with a good use of background graphics. Visitors to the website can navigate the various pages through six buttons placed at the top of the page. The homepage contains a photo slider which displays pictures of the school, its pupils as well as the Ardagh Chalice! There is also a Latest News section on the homepage which displays the latest news, photos and information.
The website's About tab contains important information such as School Policies, Board of Management information and class details as well as interesting facts about the history of St Molua and a fascinating "Did you know?" section. The About section also outlines activities in the school such as tin whistle, soccer and GAA as well as describing how the school uses G Suite which allows collaboration between pupils and teachers on a daily basis. The school implements a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy where children can bring their device to school in order to complete assignments and publish their own writing.
The school's website contains a Parent section which contains very useful information on the Parent's Association, Booklists and the school calendar as well as information on the new Language Curriculum and Cyber Bullying Resources. St Molua's website also includes a Resources section which contains an extensive list of useful links for English, Maths, Gaeilge and ICT. We are very pleased to see that Scoilnet appears in that section!
St Molua's website is well maintained and kept up to date. Their site is a great example of how a school can integrate and innovate when it comes to using digital technologies in an educational setting. Well done!
