Congratulations to Taunagh National School on winning Scoilnet’s Star Site Award! Taunagh National School is a two teacher school in the village of Riverstown in County Sligo. Visitors to the school website are greeted with a picturesque image of their two story building on a raised site overlooking the river Unshin. The school’s homepage features eight navigational tabs, a brief description of the school and an award for being a Digital School of Distinction.
The website is well maintained with up to date information on enrolment, school closures as well as the various activities in the school. Each tab is sub divided in different sections. In the ‘About Us’ tab, there is information on the school’s history, ethos and staff. In the ‘News & Events’ tab, there is a calendar, photo gallery and newsletter which provides a great point of contact for parents, pupils and the wider community.
Each class grouping gets their own section on the website which is divided into Junior Room and Senior Room sections. The Junior Room section contains videos and photos of activities such as artwork and robotics. The Senior Room section contains information on activities such as ‘The Egg Drop Challenge’ and Boxercise.
The school’s website also includes a tab for useful information which includes Internet Safety, Useful Links and Booklists. I’m happy to report that Scoilnet.ie is included in their Useful Links!
Taunagh National School’s website has a simply layout, is easy to navigate and is well maintained with up to date information. Congratulations on winning Scoilnet’s Star Site Award!
