The Ireland Collection

Scoilnet.ie is pleased to announce that the Ireland Collection on JSTOR.org is freely available to all schools on the Schools Broadband Network. (A full listing of the publications is below.)

What is the Ireland Collection?

Developed in cooperation with Queen's University Belfast, the Ireland Collection is an interdisciplinary collection of journals and other materials. When complete, it will contain a minimum of 75 journals, including journals with moving walls between 1 and 5 years and ceased journals from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. Over 200 monographs and 2,500 manuscript pages will also be included.
The collection includes titles and resources across the arts, humanities, and sciences in disciplines such as music, art, history, literature, archaeology, mathematics, and biology. The content is international in scope, while also providing a rich focus on Ireland. The Ireland Collection was created with funding from the JISC Digitisation Programme. The National Centre for Technology in Education has licensed access to the Ireland Collection on behalf of 4,060 schools in Ireland.

What is JSTOR?

With more than a thousand academic journals and over one million images, letters, and other primary sources, JSTOR is one of the world's most trusted sources for academic content.

How can secondary schools license access to other content in the JSTOR Archive?

Secondary schools may license access to over 1000 journal titles for one set of participation fees. Secondary schools contribute a one-time Archive Capital Fee of $500 (USD) and an ongoing Annual Access Fee of $2500, $1500, or $750, which is based on the school’s JSTOR Classification. To obtain your school’s JSTOR Classification and to request additional information, please submit the secondary school feedback form on the JSTOR website.
