Mentimeter

Everybody wants to be heard, so why not use mentimeter to get real time answers from your students. Simple to use - create a question, present question, students use digital device to visit menti website, type in the given code for your quiz/survey/poll/question and enter their answers. The answers are presented on teacher dashboard.

Kahoot

Kahoot is a free interactive online game program that enhances student engagement. It is usually played in group settings. Players answer on any electronic device that has an internet connection. Games are displayed on shared screen to unite the lesson.

Edpuzzle

The easiest way to engage students in video or in a flipped classroom environment. Pick your video, add your questions and track your students understanding with EDpuzzle. Teacher can add audio/text questions to the video.

 

 

Padlet

A virtual online wall where students can share their learning or prior knowledge collaboratively with the class. Students can present their understanding onto the online wall using text, image, video or in document format. New feature on Padlet enables students to create flow charts and connect posts with arrows.

Create digital flashcards to challenge your memory of keywords. Other modes of assessment are automatically designed such as;
Learn: Read a definition and type the associated word.
Speller: Listen to the word and type what you hear.
Test: List of questions to answer.
Scatter game: Drag corresponding items onto each other to make them disappear and beat your time.
Gravity: Type the definition or keyword before the asteroid hits the planet. 

An ideal tool for student self assessment or formative assessment. 

Socrative

Students share their understanding by answering formative assessment questions in a variety of formats: quizzes, quick question polls, exit tickets and space races. Socrative will instantly grade and present class results visually.

Google Forms

This is a free tool from Google which allows you to create forms, surveys, quizzes and more. The form can be shared with your class via email, link or QR code. Student responses are collected in a spreadsheet and results collected in graphs or charts. Google Forms updated over the summer so you can now grade from within the Google Forms application you no longer need the Flubaroo add-on.

Go Conqr

An online learning environment where students can take quizzes, write notes, revise with flashcards, create mind-maps and flowcharts. The report section within Go Conqr allows for frequent formative assessment with is monitored. The report section tracks progress so that students learning potential can be maximised.

An online platform for giving students assignments. Teacher creates a class online using edcite. The associated class code must be given to students so that they are linked to your assigned assessments. Teacher can create assessments using questions from a ready-made library or create their own. Grading of assessments is automatic, although detailed answers requires teacher grading. When students complete an assessment, feedback is instant. A report on the assessment can be accessed by the teacher. The teacher can analyse the report based on 'Grade by Student' or 'Grade by Question'.

 

Pflickers

The Plicker way is so simple. Teacher creates a multiple choice game using the Plicker website/ app. Teacher prints a symbol on a card for each student. Students then rotate the card symbol until it matches their multiple choice answer. The teacher scans the room with the Pflicker app camera to collect instant graphical feedback on the classes answers.

 

 

AnswerGarden

An online platform which allows students to respond to a given question. Answers are collected on a growing word cloud - with the most answered responses appearing larger.

Wizer

Online tool enabling teachers to create interactive online worksheets. Teacher can assign the worksheet to students via Google Classroom or through a unique URL. Students complete the worksheet by answering either multiple choice or open ended questions.  Multiple choice questions are automatically marked and teacher can correct open ended questions through teacher dashboard. Student can access feedback by going back to the URL worksheet link.

Quizizz

Gamified formative assessment where teacher can create on online quiz. Teacher provides students with the access code. Students appear on teacher dashboard, alongside a quiz leader-board and a recording of the number of correct & incorrect answers. At the end of quiz, students can review questions, see point score and accuracy. Teacher can export class report once signed into their account.

The State Examinations Commission is responsible for the development, assessment, accreditation and certification of the second-level examinations of the Irish state: the Junior Certificate and the Leaving Certificate.
