Eating a balanced diet is vital for good health and wellbeing. Food provides our bodies with the energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins and minerals to live, grow and function properly. We need a wide variety of different foods to provide the right amounts of nutrients for good health.
Teachers and students can use the following resources when learning about nutrition, macronutrients and micronutrients. The resources include two presentations, interactive Kahoot quizzes, Youtube videos and Quizlet flashcards.
PowerPoint presentation on macronutrients covering classifications, sources and functions of Proteins, Lipids and Carbohydrates. Students are also encouraged to examine deficiency diseases associated with various macronutrients.

These short video clips allow students to digest content at their own pace. Students can press stop when they need to digest a key point and rewind if they need to hear a point again.
Each video has a key question for students to react to while watching to the video clips. The key questions ensure that students are active listeners rather than passive consumers of knowledge.
