A guided student exercise booklet for Ordinary Level Mathematics on Financial Maths put together by teacher Aoife McDonnell. Front page includes a reference for students on what teacher expects them to know about Financial Maths. Booklet was used as a revision practice and guide for students. The structured step-by-step format enables struggling students to gain confidence in their ability to tackle problems - giving them reassurance throughout problems. Problems are also broken down into mini-achievable parts so students come away from saying "I can't do it" to "I can do part 1 and maybe 2 of the problem" From here, other students begin to discuss as some students will say "I can do part 3 of the problem" Students begin to look to one another for answers in a carefully planned out booklet approach to revision. (Note: Some topics are missing from the front list as these were worksheets from a very good old workbook.)

Suggestions for use: A guided approach for students to complete regular revision throughout sixth year for their Leaving Cert. exams.
A checklist on expectations on topics students need to be aware of for their Leaving Certificate Ordinary and Foundation Level Maths exams. The checklist includes a list of common topics on paper 1 and paper 2. (Be weary that topics on paper 1 could appear on paper 2 - vice versa.) The checklist is a guide on what is needed when completing revision for State Examination Exams.

Suggestions for use: Use guide as a checklist for students to regularly review throughout the year. Advice students to glue the worksheet into the front of their exercise books / exam papers.
PowerPoint looking into the power of time management. Lower ability students may struggle with time management skills. It is a good practice to help students prepare their timing in answering questions when under time constraint. By having students management skills ready, students will be more confident in what and how they can sit the exam confidently. Having time management skills also reduces anxiety and stress associated with exams.

Suggestions for use: Use the PowerPoint in class to empower students in tackling the examination process. Allow students to research the date for the exam and fill into the PowerPoint during class. This gives ownership to the students in managing their progress and learning. If students are involved, the process becomes more personal and individualised to them. Get the class into groups to discuss the timing needed for each question. (Note that the marks for questions change yearly for questions)
