Added: 15 Oct 2020 Contributor: PDST Resource type: Guide/notes / Audio / Video / Presentation

Eight slides focus on the structure, timbres and rhythms heard in the orchestral piece, The Typewriter by Leroy Anderson, using colourful images and backgrounds. The audio is embedded and the images help the students to follow the music and the structure of the piece visually.

How it maps to the curriculum

Strand: 1. Procedural Knowledge

Strand unit: 11. Illustrate Structure of a Piece of Music

Suggestions for use: An approach for using these teaching slides is described in the video which is also on this website. The teacher is tasked with moving to the next slide, to synchronise the colourful images with the music. Further development is suggested in a pdf file, also on this website.
