Letter Home from an Irish Emigrant - Thomas Reilly

Written in 1848 the letter describes the author's sailing to America and the terrible storms encountered on the voyage. Reilly, who is now based in Albany, New York, describes the difficulties of settling in a new land. This letter is part of a wider project on migration by the US website Re-imagining Migration. The letter is followed by questions aimed at students.
