An essay examining the history of the Irish revolutionary decade and how it affected Naas Christian Brothers’ School. Covers the impact of the Easter Rising, Civil War and War of Independence on the Kildare area and the school in particular. Draws on a number of primary and secondary sources.
This essay was a winning entry in the ‘Decade of Centenaries’ All-Island Schools History Competition 2014 organised jointly by the Departments of Education in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
