Traces the story of a World War I service medal discovered in a garden in Co Donegal to a soldier from Co Tipperary. Covers the events of the Great War as well as the 1916 rising, War of Independence and Civil War.
Essay written by students at Scoil Cholcille Termon and was the winning entry at the ‘Decade of Centenaries’ All-Island Schools History Competition 2014 organised jointly by the Departments of Education in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
