A list of the most used words in reading and writing according to Fry. Ten levels with twenty-five words in each based on frequency of use and difficulty.

This resource should enable a child to:

  • build up a sight vocabulary of common words from personal experience, from experience of environmental print, and from books read

Suggestions for use: Use as an assessment activity, as part of a word wall or as a basis for playing word games. Alternatively use to stimulate the formation on sentences meaningful to the child and which draw on personal experience.
