Constructing a classroom banner is an activity to unite your class as one. Watch as you develop the spirit of sportsmanship as they cut and glue. You will stand back and admire their hard work throughout the Euro 2016 season.

Content objective:
This resource should enable a child to:

  • explore and experiment with the properties and characteristics of materials in making structures

Suggestions for use: Print out the images on card paper. As a class, give each pupil a printed image to cut out. Together as a class, create a special classroom banner made whereby each pupil has an input into the design by practicing fine motor skills of cutting and gluing. Social skills of co-operation and sharing will be learnt from this activity also. Hang banner around the windows in your classroom to brighten up your room for the Euro 2016.
