Winners of Digital Heritage for this Excellent Primary Sources Weblink

Added: 27 May 2016 Contributor: Scoilnet Resource type: Primary Source

This website has been awarded Digital Heritage award and has also been recommended at the Digital MegaMeet Conference. Amazing work carried out by Nuala Dalton and her class. A TRUE community connection has evolved from their community nights where they gathered many old photos and artifacts from the past. From there, they cleverly recorded their primary sources into a collection on this website. The website truly captures the cohesion of support and positive morale generated at their community night which will live on forever.

How it maps to the curriculum

  • examine and become familiar with evidence which informs us about the lives of people in the periods studied, their thoughts and concerns, especially evidence which may be found locally
  • record the place of peoples and events on appropriate timelines

Suggestions for use: Use this website in class to demonstrate what primary sources are...why not set up a community night in your school? Where older generations can bring their mysteries and antiques to showcase to your class? Set up your own flicker account using this link as a reference and guide.
