Lots of information about sounds including sounds as vibrations, sound vibrations can travel through different materials, pitch of a sound and loudness of a sound. There is also a play animation on sound along with a quiz.

This resource should enable a child to:

  • learn that sound is a form of energy
  • recognise and identify a variety of sounds in the environment and appreciate the importance of noise control
  • understand and explore how different sounds may be made by making a variety of materials vibrate

Suggestions for use: Use information as a teacher guide to your lesson or as a research tool for pupils exploring their understanding of sound. Pupils could create a voice-over presentation to present their findings. Use Audacity: Recording Suite - resource attached below.
