Geoboard is a tool for exploring a variety of mathematical topics in particular 2D shapes. Learners stretch bands around the pegs to form line segments and polygons and make discoveries about perimeter, area, angles, congruence, fractions, and more.

Content objective:
This resource should enable a child to:

  • solve problems involving shape
  • use suitable structured materials to create pictures

Suggestions for use: Use the geoboard to make 2D shapes. Allow pupils to drag and drop the bands onto the board to create a shape from line segments. Once you create your shape, you should be able to rotate. Click the information button for more details.
