Visual Arts and History - 6 Nations Rugby Trophy

Added: 30 Jan 2017 Contributor: Emer Ní Chéidigh Resource type: Guide/notes / Presentation

This is a presentation about the history of the Six Nations Rugby Championship Trophy. There is another presentation on the history of the Six Nations Championship which can be used alongside this presentation. While it is predominately a history presentation there is strong integration with Visual Arts. This can be a child led/peer led activity, the teacher requires little to no prior knowledge on the topic, they can just facilitate the lesson.

Visual Arts – The class is asked to imagine that they are asked to create a new trophy for the RBS 6 Nations Rugby Championship.
History – This presentation talks through the history of the trophy awarded to the winners of the Six Nations Rugby Championship.
English - Oral Language – there are a number of slides in which questions are asked of the class. On these slides the class are asked to discuss the questions either as a whole class, in groups or pairs.
