Added: 16 Aug 2023 Contributor: Simon Toner Resource type:

Sean Lester was the last Secretary-General of the League of Nations. An Irish diplomat, Lester played a crucial role in the League's efforts to address international crises and maintain peace during the tumultuous 1930s and 1940s. He staunchly opposed Nazi Germany's rise and faced their hostility for defending international principles. His leadership and dedication ensured the continuity of the League's functions until its dissolution in 1946.
