Microsoft - Dreamspace TV

In Scoilnet, we love all things 'Technology in Education'. To continue our promotion of this, we've partnered with the team at DreamSpace to bring you their 'Dreamspace TV' series. We will link out to their videos, align with existing Scoilnet resources and introduce you to some complimentary resources. To find out a bit more about what Dreamspace is, check out the video across!

Dreamspace TV

Below are the 6 episodes that appear on Dreamspace TV to get you started on all things Dreamspace TV. You can use this content directly in your classroom in whatever sequence you wish!

Dream Space TV for Post-Primary schools is for students aged 12-18 and brings them from basic coding with the micro:bit using visual programming to programming with Python across six episodes.  It also challenges students to think about the role of technology in helping our society, whether it be with Artificial Intelligence (AI) or programming the micro:bit to support one of the global goals.

You can get the educator guide which provides episode overviews, links, student activity sheets and extension challenges here. It should be used to accompany you in the delivery of the Dream Space TV episodes available on-demand and embedded below. In addition, should you wish to use it, there are some supporting slides for this resource here.

Please note, the challenge (do your:bit challenge) discussed in the episodes has changed format and is no longer available but the lessons are still increasingly relevant and support young people to develop key skills. We would encourage you to still run an internal challenge with your students based on the learning in these episodes and with the guidance of the teacher resource.

Video outline

Below are a series of 6 videos from Dreamspace TV. Each covers a different topic and area. Scoilnet have come up with accompanying PDF resource materials which you can access to the right of each video. These will help you to further embed these principles into your classroom.
