Jack the Lantern

'   'Jack the Lantern' is no ordinary lantern, instead it was the fairy of the bog in the olden days.

'Jack the Lantern' would only appear on a night when the moon was out. Many people cycling home from town saw 'Jack the Lantern'. He would follow the cyclist home with a bright light that would run along the edge of the bog/ roadside. 

In my opinion, 'Jack the Lantern' might have been the moon shining against the drains which ran adacent to the roadside. The light may have appeared to be moving as the cyclist was moving.   '
