The Heart

'  The heart of the home was around the fireplace.
The house could get cold in the winter so we could stay up later around the fire to keep warm.
Once the dinner was ate, we would gather around it in a big circle and create our own entertainment. The entertainment was mighty - the lack of t.v brought us closer together. We'd play music and tell jokes.

Our dog would sit back from the fire. He would sit there under the sink.  '
