Major changes have occurred in the tram network over the last century. This story looks at the old Dublin and Blessington Steam Tram and the new modern tram system known as the Luas.

There were many fatal accidents on the tram, including people falling off or being run over by it. In fact, at one time there were so many crosses along the route that some people called it ‘the longest graveyard in the world’. The picture above shows the tram at the 'Embankment' stop which was not far from Jobstown.
