In order to travel on the Luas you need to have a ticket. You can buy these from the touch-screen machines located at every Luas stop. You can also buy a Leap Card and pay online. If you have a Leap Card you just need to touch it off the Leap Card machine before getting onto the tram. The price of the fare will then be taken off your card.
